Had a chat with one of the dancers I look upto from Adelaide. We both share the same views of there not being enough support between the dancers from Adelaide.
We all have people that say, “teach me how to dance” or “teach me how to do that move” or even “yeah I’ll definetely take your class” there are so many dancers in Adelaide and they’re all in competition with each other trying to be like Brian Puspos or Chachi.
If only they knew that every dancer in the US are tight and they live in different states, but they take each others classes when ever possible. They support each other. We need that here, it’s the only way we’re all going to grow as dancers and build the community we all wish to have.
It’s sad to see and hear so many people saying, that they’ll support someone else and then there’s none. TRUEE Dance is a big example of that. If you’re a dancer and haven’t taken a class from Andre or Victor re-evaluate yourself, they deserve so much more support than what they’re currently getting. Andres choreography is exceptional and Victor is an amazingly versatile dancer.
Flava and ACPA can go else where though. They have no place in the community we want.
